NEW: New Year – New You!: New Year’s Resolution Support Group

I will spend more time with my family and friends.

I will exercise regularly.

I will quit smoking.

I will get out of debt.

I will get organized.

These are some of the most popular New Year’s Resolutions and every year over 85% of us fail at achieving them. That’s a lot of wasted time and energy, not to mention the psychological ramifications of experiencing failure. New Year – New You! is a therapy group that will help members achieve their goals by providing both support and accountability. Group members will learn a dialogical process to facilitate support through active listening, validation, and empathy. In this supportive environment, group members will provide accountability to one another.

Since most resolutions fail within six weeks, the group will meet weekly for 12 weeks, beginning in mid January. After that, members will have the option of continuing in monthly meetings to work over the course of the year at maintaining their resolutions.

Group therapy is a powerful way to address psychological, spiritual, and emotional issues in a supportive environment. In these times of economic uncertainty, it is also a cost-effective way of seeking professional help, since it is typically less expensive than individual treatment.

New Year – New You! is a therapy group for individuals looking to commit to making a meaningful change in the New Year. The group will provide a supportive environment of accountability to help members maximize their likelihood of achieving their New Year’s Resolution.
