Robert Gordon

Bob employs a whole-person approach to coaching that helps his clients achieve balance and harmony in relationships, work, and the spiritual aspect of being human. He is experienced in working with clients on life purpose, calling, and career; relationship and marriage; addiction and recovery (including sex, love, spending, internet, and food); codependency; adult ADD; death and bereavement; and spiritual growth and crisis.

Helping clients actualize their full potential is part of Bob’s strength as a coach. He draws upon his own varied life experiences to accomplish this. He has directed training, career development, and organization development for three large public agencies; led comedy troupes and professional bands; written and directed plays; been a management consultant; created award-winning comedy videos; and published his essays and cartoons in regional periodicals.

Bob holds an M.S. from American University in collaboration with the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science. He also earned an M.A. in Applied Healing Arts with a concentration in Spiritual Care from the Tai Sophia Institute, where he is an adjunct faculty member and manages the Workplace & Organizational Wellness Program. Bob is doing additional graduate work at Loyola College of Maryland. He is a CCUI-certified coach and coach trainer, a trained Imago Relationship Educator, and was trained in loss and bereavement counseling at the St. Francis Center for Loss and Healing (now the Wendt Center). He is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Association for Imago Relationship Therapists, the National Career Development Association, Spiritual Directors International, and the International Center for Spirit at Work.

Bob has studied world wisdom traditions for over 30 years and gives public trainings in meditation and qigong. Bob is authorized to officiate at weddings, life tributes, funerals, living funerals, and other important life events.
